Everyone in USA is under virtual surveillance
With all the talk this week about the latest NSA leak by Edward Snowden and Obama saying not to worry it is just "Metadata" this interview of William Binney (former NSA crypto-mathematician) in late 2012 is very important. William blows away any assurances that the content of communications is not stored, after all why would you sniff all the traffic on a line only then to sift through it just to keep the metadata. It would be like buying a rump steak only to remove the fat and then throw away the meat - data sniffing just don't work that way.

Oh the eternity of 2 seconds when compared to pico second high frequency trading.
From wikipedia
A picosecond is 10−12 of a second. That is one trillionth, or one millionth of one millionth of a second, or 0.000 000 000 001 seconds. A picosecond is to one second as one second is to 31,700 years. Or in this case 63,400 years.
